ok im having the same problem i keep having every single time i disconnect the battery re-hook the battery up, turn to acces (you can hear the fuel pump prime the system) turn key all the way, car will crank, will fire, but will only run on the prime fuel. the fuel pump cuts out after its fully running (which only last 1 second) everything is brand new, and we've somehow managed to get it runnin again after fluke shots. last time we changed the relays around and it started?? time before that i locked all the door, unlocked them, and it started. im unable to do test code as half my dash doesnt work. but was readin the codes and thinkin this might be it? but it doesnt say how to fix it
low battery maybe?mine does it aswell every time i disconnect an reconnect the battery but i just wipe the code witm my laptop.
Fuel pump should not prime on acces...only when key is on ignition. Has the engine been degreased recently because if water/degreaser gets into the oil pressure switch it can cause this problem (it's in the same circuit)
I think you misunderstood. If you go into Jecs ride thread and look at his engine bay, you'll realize how silly the degreaser question is.
its not the key. ive even tried my spare key for shits n giggles. the battery is around 1 month old. so nope i havent washed/ degreased my engine, as per showbags post no need too its not the wiring cause ive never touched it when its fixed up its done this around 7 times now. each time ive got restarted, its hasnt cut out again unless i remove the battery. yxyx64: i think it was you sayin about it not bein a theft mode. i was thinkin this simply because it only happens after the battery has been re-hooked up. it was a wild card, but thats the closest thing ive got.
i suggest trying to clock ur immobilizer, by leaving ur ignition on for 45mins or so , until ur security light stops flashing , if it starts and runs than i would say its ur immobilizer...
Fair enough - just old and stoopid....however I'll add that if water/degreaser leaks into the oil pressure switch, it may take some time to corrode the contacts inside the switch so that can still be a problem many months down the track.
thanks for all your input guys. i gave the guy who tuned it a call this morning. the actual tune has a lock on it i had to disconnect the battery, reconnect it, turn the key to accessories, wait 3 mins, then it would start again. it was a bit of a head fk but all good cheers guys!
