exactly what is a cold air intake and what does it do??

i am interested in doing it to my car and always thought it cost more than this.. can someone tell me a place to go and is there instructions on how to do it anywhere or is there instructions with it or what??

try a search on this and theres photo instructions on installing it, u can make the hole in the base of your origonal air box bigger to save u $35 or just buy that from holden aswell not sure of the part no for that but its not hard at all to cut the hole out saves $$$ hope this helps u there's a good detailed instruction on how to in this forum that helped me fit mine
