You could make one using plumbing pipes if you felt like it, seen it done before.

did it have Marley guttering side skirts as well?? at least end caps are a cheap replacement when a stone goes thru it.. sub $1 ;)

the old sun shade heat shield around the pod is also another good one..

What makes you say that? It'll still be better than the stock system.

Not if it's sucking back hot air from the engine bay so you have to make sure you CAI indeed has the "CA" in it.
It needs to be very well insulated from the rest of the engine bay. If not well done, it could actually be worse than the stock and you would get better results by just fitting a K&N filter in the airbox like suggested.

Yeah,you'll need a couple of cheap paint roller trays ,a downpipe connector to suit your throttle body and duct tape.
