Do these cold air intakes really make that much difference? Are they worth the $$?
And what are the best types to get. I've seen ones that go on top of the radiator and other ones that go behind the headlight!
Thanks

I personally liked the VCM OTR and bought that. Duspeed is also popular.

Yes they make a difference, especially when paired with a full exhaust and tune.

cant go wrong the vcm otr mate, although not sure if they have one to fit the sv6?? if they do get one, one of the best otrs, can make plenty of power without maxing it, that and the duspeed is also very good

yes they do make a difference, they go over the radiator, the others behind headlight are pod filters (cold air intake)as mikey says tune exhaust transforms the car, you can use some with the maf and without maf (needs tune)VCM, DUS, RAMJET,ORSSOM, Ziggy's are the prodominate otr's, choice is yours (if you have a V6 only a couple go well with it) google otr on here and you will be amazed by the articles on them

Definitely go OTR compared to behind the headlights. Also to note, intake without tune dont make that much of a difference in power, more for noise. The tune is where everything "comes alive" and u get the real benefits of the intake. In regards to OTR, cant go wrong with VCM as mentioned.

with my SV6 i've had a growler (didn't notice a change) and changed it over for a VCM OTR. I noticed a slight improvement over the mid/top end power but nothing drastic. if you're after power go for insulators, they defiantly improve performance. oh and the OTR sounds great!

FYI, there are more oxygen particles, or the oxygen particles are bigger in cold air than warm air.

More Oxygen, more fuel, more noise, harder stiffy. Just sayin.

The particles don't change size, just the space between the particles does.

Cooler air, is more dense, it has more particles per unit volume, compared to warmer air.
