Hi I own a VZ v6 exective and was wondering when I read in the owners hand book it states its the same as the 5.7 v8 is this what any of you v6 use? .Also I was wondering if the oilfilter is the same ? thanks ( as I dont like the fact that it is 1 year between oil changes as we only do 16k a year :whistling

Even if you only do 16k a year you still should drop your oil and replace your filter at least every 6 months. Even if you do it yourself and get holden to do it again during the once a year service. This keeps your oil and engine happy. I had a Uh Hum a Ford :whistling that only did 3.5k a year but I still did the oil and filter every 6 months.

Changing your oil filter is relatively easy, the torque settings for the bolt is 8Nm if I recall, ask Holden I'm sure its 8Nm, finger tight then a quick nip up. That's one bolt you don't want to strip or worse still crack the housing.

Isn't the Alloytec oil filter a cartridge on the top of the engine? My mate has one and says it's the easiest oil change he's ever done in his life.

EDIT: ^^^ Yes it is :)

That so beats getting under the car with the filter spanner and wrenching away on your back just to get covered in oil (if your too slow and a first timer lol)

Sump Plug location?

Thanks for the awesome picture..
Any chance of a picture of the Sump Drain plug location?

Need to change the VZ Adventra engine oil, and is it the 13mm plug directly below the front-right driveshaft? or maybe thats the front transfer case drain?

Thanks in advance..
