Color help: Connect JVC KD-G386 stereo to VL Commodore wires

Hey boys

Today i scored a JVC KD-G386 stereo which is awesome cos i been drivin around wif the original VL tape player lol.

Anyhow, im having trouble connecting it. Dont know what wires go with what as sadly the stereo didnt come with a manual and i cant find one online.

Can someone help me match up my colours?

On the VL i have

# Yellow
# Grey
# Black
# Pink
# Cream
# Light Blue
# Green

On the stereo i have..

# Yellow
# Black
# Red
# White
# White + Black stripe
# Grey
# Grey + Black stripe
# Purple
# Purple + Black stripe
# Green
# Green + Black stripe
plus
# Blue: for power antenna
# Blue + black stripe : remote output only

Also i have seen on a diagram at the back of the stereo the is a rear ground terminal thing, but is that needed cos theres no wiring coming from it?

So far in my experimenting, the stereo comes on after ignition but turns off after 5 seconds. I press display button, and it only comes on for 5 seconds.

What am i doin wrong. Cheers for any help
