Some thief busted open the glovebox of my VS. So I went to the wreckers to seek a replacement, and could only find a VR. However it is a lighter shade of grey.

Yes there were most certainly variants of colours and finishes on plastics achieved during production, even within the same model.

So if you are a stickler like myself I've always looked at vehicles that were made around the same year and month as my own, but in saying that it's getting rather hard now with VS starting to run out and getting thin on the ground while VT~VX taking over the mantle of most wreckable car at present.

Hi RWD,

Just out of interest what year and month was your car built as I may be able to get something pretty close for you.

It's not worth matching, it's run up a lot of km. If it were something like a HSV Senator, I might worry about getting everything right.

I went right through the interior in my bus and got it all matching. A PO had mixed and matched interior panels with dark and light.
