Looks like Cruze's big brother...
Welcome to Just Commodores, a site specifically designed for all people who share the same passion as yourself.
Clobber the guy lol.Lol - many years ago the company I worked for did the sports bars for the VU utes. Our brief from HSPO & Holden Marketing was to emulate the (then new) AU bars which we also developed. After 6 months of rooting about we had the thing sorted and it was a big improvement in ascetics over the AU version (although 99.99% of the public would never be able to pick what was actually different). With the release scheduled for mid January and the day before Christmas break up it went before all the product guys at GM who all loved it and then one of the marketing guys says nup, too close to the AU. We need it to be different :bang:. We cobbled something together over the next day that we knew nobody would go for and in the end the "AU" version was approved.

Looks like it's taken a few clues from the new Impala. Seems the direction General Motors is going in, plus when you consider the new Colorado, Colorado 7 and Malibu are all sporting the new grill designs.
Either way, looking forward to it, the claimed fuel use would be amazing for a powerful V6 such as the Commodore.
They call them clamshells, and you're right they do suck.not a big fan of how the bonnet kind of sits on top of the outer guards not meet them in the same line ie, the bonnet sits on top and then folds down to the guard rather than our current commodores where the guard is rolled over to meet the bonnet.
But as already stated, this design seems to be a common theme within GM now
