I would never use any type of stop leak additive on anything unless I was replacing the entire cooling system afterwards ie water pump , lines, heater core, radiator, and hot tank the engine lol that stuff is nasty! Iv seen it completely block a thermostat and cook a set of heads but in saying that u do have a valid point it is a very cheap option by comparison and if I wasn't capable of changing the valley gasket and didn't have the $600 to pay someone I would probably do it too :p lol hope u fixed your car dude let us know how you went

if that's the case why doesn't it have those warnings on the bottle , and you think the company be sued over it if it was to cause damage to ya cooling system .

also was it rislone brand that caused the problem with the blocked thermostat , if ya go to there website and look up frequent asked questions on the copper liquid you will see there products does no harm , it even tells you on there site how it works . And you say it cooked a set of heads , wouldn't you see on the temp gauge that its running hot , and pull over. so don't make assumptions on products used as rislone brand is safe. don't use any other brand than rislone!!!

The stop leak additives can work if used correctly.
The problem with blocked cooling systems is because people leave the stuff in there when you're supposed to flush it out after a couple of days.

HA416EZ is for the buick 3800 VN-VR engine (correct for your engine)
HA5001EZ is for the ecotec vs/vt etc etc, won't fit the earlier ones.

They become very handy. For 100 bucks for a 1/2" drive torque wrench.. may as well buy.

Just buy a few of cheap Chinese 1/4" ratchets and keep tightening until the ratchet head snaps.. should be able to grab half a dozen from the local $2 shop
