hey
i had an accident in my VE and both front airbags blown up , the airbag alarm is not my problem , my problem is that the stability control is not working , some times after i reset the service the stability control works for a few seconds till i turn the steering wheel right and lift ,
is there any relation between the stability control and streering wheel airbag !

From my understanding, if there is a fault with the airbag, that will trigger a fault with the stability control system

From what you've described, it sounds like it could be the clockspring in the steering wheel

Definitely clockspring...I've had the same thing happen to mine (Just from driving not being in an accident)...it sounds like you didn't replace the clockspring with the airbag so id be very surprised if the airbag being deployed didn't damage the ribbon cable or connectors in the original clockspring

Can't imagine it does come with the airbag as it is separate. Probably depends where you get the airbag from...I would change it as a precaution as I know from experience with a Mitsubishi Magna (Yes I know a different car) the explosion from the airbag in an accident burnt the wiring behind the steering wheel and the connector to the clockspring. Commodore might not be as savage but id still be changing it as the symptoms you've described sound exactly like a dodgy connection in that clockspring

And as far as I know you have to get a specialist to put a airbag in by law.
