Commodore wont start cant reprogram key

Hey guys hopeing I can get some help I have a 1999 vt commodore V6 manual and its stopped starting as in wont even crank over. My key has stopped locking and unlocking the doors so thought easy fix. So went and brought a new key and a plug n play to reprogram the key. Followed all the steps the plug n play flashed orange then went red. I'm stumped any help would be awesome cheers guys

Did you buy the special key for the programmer? They only work with their own brand keys.

I first brought one from ross galt locksmith which was a genuine commodore key tried that with a map plug n play didnt work so returned that key and brought same brand key. MAP brand but still didnt work. Cheers
