Would suggest getting all the sensors off your old engine before you ditch it. Pack them all in bubble wrap and write what they are. You’ll be laughing if one fails on the new engine.

Did this to my ute's original engine... Knock knock, who's there? Rod six. haha

As for why VF engines are cheaper? Maybe they're more common? LLTs are stupid expensive for this reason (because they're less common).
Does anyone know if it’s possible or even worth it to try and swap out my series 1 VE alloytec to a VF LFX?? And change the trans to the six speed?? My alloytec is about to die and it’s my pride and joy that car so I can’t let it go

Just an update, I got a 3.6LFX from a VF with less than 60k on the clock put in professionally for 3.3k total price, drive away. The reason I had it done by the mechanic was because too many sensors and other crap that I wasn’t familiar with. I’ve only done 700km since the swap but everything is running smooth so far

I'm one of the unlucky ones who will have to either rebuild the LY7 or find somehow a low K one if I ever need to

Hi guys they figured it out! It was just a couple of bad earths..

So just to recap.. A lot of people said that you can't put a VF engine into a VE..
That is untrue. We now have a VF LFX engine in our series 2 VE (Originally also had LFX engine)
We did have to put the VE sump on, because the sensors are different. And used the VE wiring harness. So if anyone wanted to know.. Yes, it does work!
Problably a dumb question but i have to do this in my ve z series and was wonering if the vf lfx had the 210 kw like my ve does?
