Gday I have a vy v6 tonner that eats allot of fuel, It likes to rev, just gently accelerating it will rev to 2500rpm before changing gears, doesn’t change into 4th until 70-80km/h and the torque converter doesn’t lock up till just over 110km/h, pushing the power button makes it rev even more. I brought a sedan computer of ebay and didn’t even think about the coded keys, so my Question is can i just swap over the chip inside the ecm to make it behave like a sedan and still keep using my original keys??

    Thanks Shane

I think you can get the new computer reprogrammed to fit your BCM. Holden should be able to do it.

Well i'm afraid you're fresh out of luck then - the BCM, the key, the computer - they all have to be programmed to talk to each other.

I think you should be able to remove the chip and put in your other computer with you changing any codes but its soldered in so you will have a bit of work on your hands to get it out

Nope, even if you swap over just the chips it still won't work. They need to be specifically programmed for that VY - Chiptorque in Nerang told me about this.
