How do I get that ball joint in when changing lower control arm

Be best to press it in with a Bearing Press of similar.
Or tap it in slowly, make sure you place a film of grease in and around the fittings,
Always best to use sockets.

Oh I thought they meant they removed the old arm and now need to reconnect the new one to the ball joint housing on the wheel hub assembly hence you need to jack up the hub to fit it in, if they just removed the old ball joint out by smashing it out with a sledge hammer I would suggest taking the arm and new ball joint to a mechanic to press it in for a small fee.

To me, the posting can be seen both ways....Putting the balljoint back in the stub axle, and also putting the balljoint back into the control arm.

I think the OP should be a little bit more specific to stop the confusion
