convert colume shift

    just wanted to see if many have converted a colume shift to on the floor shift and if it is hard to do for a VS 98 model ute , what tools, specialty tools maybe required.

    I know if you are going auto - auto you will need to change your trans. I was looking at a wagon with column shift at pick a part and the trans selector was a bit different on the box and the trans had a different code on the bell housing too.

    currently auto will keep auto as well . just looking at the idear of switching to on the floor

    yeah auto mate and will be keeping auto just looking at the idear of switching to floor shift and changing the bench seat out for 2 bucket seats i have.

    I think at some point he mentioned that it was auto and that he was going to keep it auto.

    Don't they just use a cable to the box? Surely you could attach this to the floor shift centre console. Although the selections may be in different places.

    now im no genious with auto boxes, however...
    would you need to change it to a 2 seater? or is that just a want to do thing?
    otherwise could the gear selector not be put in the same spot on the floor as where the manual gearstick gets put?
