Hehehehe, my phone background pic is a white Z/28.
I don't know if Zombie Steve Jobs will let me change my iPhone background pic!
I think it is safe to say that GM will release a RHD Camaro having done so with the new Corvette.
I don't know where you got that from given this news has been circulating..
It's super disappointing. We'd like all like a factory RHD Camaro which made its way here for reasonable money, but it doesn't seem like GM wants to do it.
hadn't seen that
The last facelift has had very mixed feedback. Lets hope not.
Its a tough, specialty cars don't really fit the global market. Surely If they amalgamate a platform to cover the drivetrain of the camaro, the function of the vf and euro touring sedans, while also having medium polish and track ability they can sell them to any market. Call it whatever cts-v, camaro, commodore, impala, lacrosse. Ie a VF update with a GenV powertrain. Cant be better than the vette but can be close to at a cheaper pricepoint and better function.
America or rather GM seems to have an issue with a performance 4 door sedan. VF is better than anything than GM had at the time.
But GM America didn't design or build it.
Doesn't sit well with their cock swinging ways.
Yep. GM is blind to anything not V8 and/or not designed or built in the US. GM embodies Trump...
It’s “America”, not just GM.
Even medium sedans are selling fewer & fewer, large ones even more so.
4WD’s/SUV’s are cheap old tech & people are stupid enough to pay extra for them; manufacturers are concentrating on that particular cash-cow at the expense of all else.
Lookit Mr Bishi’s range for example; they’re all 10+yo SUV ****boxes, and the sub-par Triton.
Your average American wouldn't realise it wasn't made in 'Murica..if it wears a bowtie..it's a Chevy..
I'm not sure it's so much that (although it certainly plays a part), but compare the relative 'conservativeness' of VF to the brawny, in-your-face looks of traditional American performance V8's.
They like theirs brash and bold, and I just don't think VF fitted in that well with what your typical American buyer wants. And that's fine, at the end of the day it's our car..we just offered it to them, and they were lucky to have the opportunity to buy one of the best cars built under the GM nameplate. The fact that not many did is not a reflection on the car.
Well those yanks still think the world revolves around them.....
It's a shame we can't send Trump, Xi Jingping and Putin to the moon to sort out there differences and leave the rest of us on earth in peace.
You can probably include Ardern in that group. She is doing more harm to your country and quality of life than any of the other three ever will.
She's not to bad.
You won't see the effects of her policies for years. That's the problem. Anyway, back on topic..
Yep, it takes years to undo the damage done by the previous idiot....
At the end of the day they are all idiots but I'd rather her than the guy with that horrible kiwi accent....
Unfortunately she might make getting a Camaro harder but at least we can still import LHD cars here.
Not to mention the plethora of JDM deathtraps which have no business being on a public road..
Give it time, I do believe they are in the process of restricting imports based on safety ratings but that only solves the new imports but I wouldn't be surprised if they start making a lot harder to keep older cars on the road.
I was in Queenstown a couple years back (granted, it's a backpackers/tourist Mecca, so not representative of the country as a whole), but I was flabbergasted at the absolute sh1theaps that populated the roads. My father is a kiwi native and he tells me they exist all over the country (in varying amounts).
I'm all for quirky cars etc, but you're right, they need to make sure they are safe. Some of the things I saw were less roadworthy than my wheelie bin.
I was down there last year and I don't remember to many bombs getting around, a lot of rental cars but then I wasn't really paying attention either. There used to be a lot of cheap nasty imports but they dealt to a lot of those when the restricted imports based on emissions ratings and they are in the process of doing the same with safety ratings atm. This government is starting to make a push to get more EV's on the road at the expense of large IC driven vehicles. I.e the price of those large SUV and trucks is going to go up, some by up to $8K they are suggesting. I'm all for getting those SUV's off the road
