There are a few threads around on the L3 V6 => V8 tachos - but I cant find anything on VR Level 2 upgrades.

My problem is that at idle the tacho sinks to zero. It revs fine but wont hold 750-850 rpm at idle.

I moved R2 to R3 and added 220k resistor to R2 (same resistor used in the L3 upgrade) and added links to K1 K2 K5 and K6.

Anyone know what I'm doing wrong? Is it the wrong resistor?

OK found a L2 V8 tacho and the conversion is not the same as a L3 tacho.

    I need to find:

    D2 - a BZX85C light Blue with Black stripe
    R2 - a Brown, Yellow, Black, Red, Red (14K -/+ 2

I'll head down to Dick Smiths today ad see if I can get lucky.

Tried our local South of Adelaide Jaycar store today - they missed on all 3 resistors I need.

I've now sent an email to Forece electronics - I get heat shrink from them at a good price. If that fails I'll need to sure the net for a while to find a supplier.

OK fixed this issue - I was looking at the resistor the wrong way round :( also had the orange band mistaken for yellow. So it is a 220k resistor after all. Also had to change D2 on 1 of the V6 tachos to the BZX85C. Tested 3 units in the car today and all 3 work fine.

Strange that D2 on 1 of the tachos was wrong - or maybe just made by a different company or something like that. Dunno.
