Would'nt recommend it mate. The Valvoline G-05 uses the hybrid acid stuff, its not recommended for GM vehicles. Id go with the Original Green.

I've always used the genuine Holden Coolant Concentrate, with a 50% mix of concentrate and water. I've never had to replace anything relating to the cooling system at all, for the entire life of the car.

Water will be ok, but really only as an emergency top up. But the main thing to remember here is to NEVER mix different brands or types of coolants.

Always look for something that is specifically made for the commodore V6 engine, there are a number of other companies that make suitable coolant, if you don't want to use the GM stuff.

well i've been running water for a fair while {dont flame me i kno} and i've never really had a problem. but i wanted to do it wth coolant but ran out of cash quick cause i had to replace plugs, leads and do an oil change. plus needed fuel so it'll stay as is till next weekend
