I just took off the heater hose and flushed it through with the garden hose until it was clear, that way you get it all out.

The heater hose, on the right hand side of the motor. It's a 3/4" hose i think from memory. Doing that means you also get the extra coolant that will be in the heater too so that's why i do it that way.

Certainly do. Flush when the bulk of the coolant is drained. Put the garden hose on the heater hose and flush, then reverse the flush by putting the garden hose on the block where you took the heater hose off.

I think the block plug is on the passenger side if you want to go that way, down the bottom half way along. I only go the other way to get all the coolant out of the heater. It can be a real bitch to get the air out of the system too once you replace the coolant.
