When flushing out your old coolant how do you get it all out? Im no expert but Im pretty sure if you just drain it with the drain plug there will still be old coolant left in the engine. Any tips would be a great help. Thanks all.

You can’t on the VZ-VF because we can’t remove the thermostat.

Best method to achieve it is with a vacuum flush. That requires a compressor and a few special attachments. It will draw out ALL the old coolant. Then it tests the integrity of the system. Then refill in seconds without air entering.

Best someone can do at home is to drop the coolant and refill. A flush won’t be possible and tap water shouldn’t enter the system. Always use demineralised water and red coolant.

You will need to follow specific air bleed procedures at the end and that does not include using the air bleed on the radiator although it’s helpful when filling the radiator

Any air locks inside after can cause issues.

It’s not a case of how things used to be done back in the day. Just letting some bubbles out with the car running and the cap off also does not cut it. So just do the bleed.
