The cooling system in my S1 VN V6 has been bothering me for a while. I've got an idea of what I want but I'm not sure exactly what parts I'll need to achieve it, or if it can even be done. If anyone can help me out, please do.:)
Here's what I want to end up with:

V8 radiator - dedicated radiator, not used for trans cooling as well if possible
    transmission cooler
    twin thermo fans
radiator cap system (more like the s2 V6 than the s1)

Anyone got any ideas where I could start?
    Cheers
    Sam

been having issues with random splurges of coolant from the reservoir cap, only have a cheap replacement radiator made in indonesia.. i'll be going after power in the future though, either with a sc or a 5L. Probably a 5L. I just want to boost up the cooling system so I don't have to worry about it so much.

before you go and change anything make sure your waterpump and thermostat are up to scratch. i wouldnt worry about a v8 radiator, just get a newie and theres not much point using it as a dedicated radiator because they are 2 separate tanks inside the radiator, just run the transmission lines through the radaitor then into an external cooler, that way your providing extra cooling for the trans aswell.

now upgrading to the series 2 would be a definate, its a far better setup than the s1's so just do that and then add twin thermo's only if you need it. i got the s1.5 (essentially the s1 setup with an added overflow) which still works very well. gets up to just below half the gauge in traffic and as soon as the thermo fan kicks it doesnt get any hotter than that.

What do I need to change it all over to s2? I'll do that first, but I still want a bigger radiator than the cheap indonesian-made one repco sold me. the one it replaced was bigger.

just the radiator and overflow hoses and bottle, just go to a wrecker and have a look at a s2 setup, shouldnt be too hard to suss out.

Dont stress about the V8 radiator... get an aluminium V6 newie(SII) and the SII overflow bottle, Run a dedicated transcooler and also the twin themors and you should be fine.

I have a transcooler for sale if your interested, $70.

I thought the VN cooling systems are good. My VN temp gauge hardly moves. If i sit at the traffic lights on a hot day it might go up a little, but as soon as i start driving again it goes back down.
