Okay so i got my corvette servo this week so i decided before attempting it since i have the old trans in the shed that id pull that one apart so i know exactly what to do..

everything pull apart easy besides the 2nd apply servo... i had to bash the pin out of it.. is this normal? note the corvette servo is also really tight on there.. i didnt put it on because i didnt want to force it..

any ideas?

They make them drive like a Corvette....only kidding. I think they increase pressure behind a piston and strengthen up the shifts. It also apparently improves reliabilty of the trans. Someone on here with more knowledge on this will answer.

not to sure on improving reliability of the trans, but it makes the 1st-2nd shift alot more violent and harder, i beleive due to a larger surface area for the fluid to act on.

The faster the shift the less slip in the clutches the longer the clutches last = win :)
Can't say it's too good for the rest of the driveline under full power but since the gearbox slipping is the most likely failure in old Commodores it's still full of win :)

Just a quick Q... Does the box need to come out in order to install the servo?

Thanks in advance!

No you just undo it at the trans mount then wedge a bit of wood in the side after you move the box over a bit with say... a crow bar :) it just needs to be moved across a bit so you have room to work on the side of the box because there's where it goes in
