As the title says - there is a crack in the alloy piece where the oil pressure sender unit, and the oil filter screw in - accompanied by a hefty oil leak.

Can anyone tell me how big a job it is to replace this part ? Can the part be sourced at repco etc or do I need genuine holden ? What is the part called ?

    Any help appreciated!

    Cheers

The oil filter adapter isnt to hard to replace if you have a good workshop manual and follow the instruction precisely when removing and reinstalling the oil filter adapter. I'm not sure whether Repco have them in stock but im sure that they could order them in if you asked them to.

Thanks for the reassurance. Now that I know what to call it, I rang holden - only $27 inc gasket, so that's done, as for fitting - no manual here, so can anyone provide any pointers ?

    Cheers

    Give this a go.

You don't have to do step 7.

Its pretty straight forward mate.. look for all the bolts that go thru it, and undo them! i think i recall one of them was a real ar5e to undo, but you will soon learn which one lol.

Give it a go, dont forget to put the gasket in there and maybe use a dab of gasket sealer too

I have found the tricky one its too bloody tricky for me can not get a socket or spanner around it. It's the top left/rear 13mm bolt. Any tips on how to get this bugger out?
