    G'day guys,

I have an 04 VY2 Acclaim Wagon. 4 weeks ago it died on me and wouldn't start again while warm. Once cooled down it would restart only to die once it warned up. I had it towed to a mechanic near home and the Crank Angle Sensor was replaced and the car was serviced. Last night the problem has started again. The car started and then died backing out of the driveway. It then restarted and died while driving down my street. I left the car overnight and tried it again this morning. The car started and I let it idle until it does around 10 secs later. Over the last week I have also felt it shudder a couple of times when driving, not long after being started.

Is it possible that the Crank Angle Sensor has gone again so soon, or could it be another issue? Could there be a background issue causing the Crank Angle Sensors to go?

Also, if it is the CAS, seeing as it was done 4 weeks ago to the day, what are my odds of getting a large mechanic franchise to replace it again under warranty for their own work? Is this a possibility?

Thanks for any info you can help with!

Ive seen a couple of cheaper aftermarket CAS's fail from new. Genuine holden replacement sensors are the only way to go, even though they cost more..

Always stick with genuine for these cars as far as coil packs and sensors go and also Brett is right even new parts can fail including fuel pumps and pretty much anything electric

Thanks for the replies guys! Ill ask the mechanics if it was a genuine part or not and if not ill make a request for it to be replaced with one!

Also get them to check the wiring and its connector pins that go to the CAS and the DFI module, as faulty wiring or connectors can also cause similar problems.
