I was told by a mechanic (not my mechanic, rather, a mate of mine) that clunking in my gears could be due to a Crank Angle Sensor on it's way out.. I know I got issues with it, due to starting problems.. but would this help my Gear Clunking also? It only happens with the Engine Warning Light on.

hmm, yeah...i dont understand what the cas has to do with the trans, at all.
clunking in and out of gears is usually due to drivetrain problems.

no trent, the most likely cause is a fault in the trans causing high line pressure

sircruisealotVS: thats what I thought myself.. but this Mechanic mate sounded quite convincing!

MBS206: Haven't had it checked out to tell you the truth, lack of time.

Doctor Bob: I know when the Transmission was replaced, the cooler lines weren't quite tightened to the way they shoulda been.. is this what you mean?

excuse my mechanical illiteracy.

Yes, quite frequently.
While the car is warming up so to speak. first 5-10 minutes of driving it'll drive withOUT the engine light.. gearchanges will be nice and smooth. Engine light comes ON and sharp punchy(sometimes crunchy) gearchanges.
