I have a 2004 Vy today went for a drive got home then tried to start it again about 20 minutes later and had a crank no start. I had the same problem before and it was a DFI i had a spare so i changed the DFI car started and run fine for months. today it had a crack no start again so i did a bit of research and find out a no-spark could be a crank angle sensor. I find out they can play up when the car is hot. I let it seat for a few hours just tried to crank it over started no problem.

Sounds like CAS
I remember there was always a suggestion to pour cold water on them to cool them down so they would start.
Never tried it myself.

yeah i was going to buy a new DFI. But it wasn't that i don't think i replaced the DFI about 2 months ago so i fort couldn't have gone again. I'm almost sure it is the crank angle senor because after letting the car sit for a bit it started first crank no problem. So yeah how ever its got a lot of Kms on it 340,000kms on the motor and the car honestly hasn't been taken care of before i got it.

I have vt. The dfi stuffed up. Bought new with coil packs, stuffed up fairlt quick (1 week?), Took it back, another dud. In fact a few duds.

Went to the wreckers $50.00 dfi & coil packs.

I also carry a spare with the tools to change it. 10 15 min. & l'm going again.

Last time on the road that l changed it was 2018.

Yours probably is the cas. Next time it stops try the water bottle trick, if works, cas needs changing if not, not the cas.
