Who plans to do anything other then sink piss on grand-final weekend. I've offered to help many times over in the 7years u have had motor back.

So had an epic weekend!!! Started the motor swap, took all the accessories off on fri.

Spent most of sat ripping out the motor, gear box and tailshaft! Some peeps leave box in but was easier to just remove we decided! Tony was an absolute legend giving up a we to help a brother out!!!!

So had a few dramas as i decided to save 30secs of time and undo gear box mount on the gearbox stand and the gear box took a swan dive off causing the bellhousing to shatter.

However was a blessing as we got a new one by chance the wrecker we good mates with had a contact who had the vt style bo, with the 5l bellhousing. Rare box, only has 80 thousand on it! My box was making funny noises and worried it would fry on the dyno.

Also degreased the shizen out of the bay as had a lot of and dirt etc. Gave my pipes a good clean and sprayed them matt black, used the same colour on the Lotus and was worried it would look pox but actually looks quite good and hides the extractors nicely.
So installed the new steering rack, prick of a job as the old rack had seized a few bolts. Also put on after market link pins, new tie rod ends.
I also did some work to plenum as was unhappy with look of wedges for the throttle , so shanfered the edges with die grinder. Looked a thousand times better! Getting the box back in was a prick of a job as hard to get to the bell housing bolts etc and getting the oil lines on was no fun. Got tail shaft all bolted up again, motor in sitting on new mounts and loom in place ready to be Hooked up!

Extractors on tonight, fuel pump and cut hole in bonnet. Start up mid week I hope!
