That is awesome, right there. Also in favour of everything you're doing. Also the B&M Quiksilver shifter in post #673 looks fantastic, so do similar with the pro ratchet when you do it.

Yea has its pros like we watched walking dead together but i was pulling trim from the car. To piss her off i leave doors open when her friends come around, seeing a bogan vs on display.
Dropped all plastic facias to my mate, going satin black and gloss black on the door timber infills. New seat belts here soon and carpet, want to start work on shifter. Something to play with.

How do you get pictures/photos in your Signature?!
Sorry for the random off topic, but I'm new and trying to get a little photo on my signature and I cant figure out how to do it.

So got the facias ready for paint going satan black with themand then gloss black with the caprice door moulds. See how it looks, as getting caprice trims re covered in the 25i colour vynal and maybe black leather inserts in door trim.

Got all the seats out etc, new seat belts, momo wheel in and ready for new carpet. I am going to try heat proof around trans tunnel to combat all the zaust heat. Can get underlay with heat resistant backing

Got my bits back from my painter, came up as always exactly how i wanted them. Satin black for all the dash facias and gloss for the door trim pieces.

Also got my drop down box for the b&m shifter, just waiting on my dekota shifter position gizmo. Once shifter arrives ill take the grinder to it and make a few minor adjustments. It will sit down in the standard facia and run in standard slot. It will run the dekota to light up shift positions, a lot of people just run all one colour led in each but honestly thinking maybe green for all drive positions, red for park and reverse and white for neutral. Or is that too much just stay one colour?

Yea not a bad idea, will be a bit of fun and no doubt a tedious process of fitting drop down box and shifter so that shifter is exactly in the correct place to work with the original facias. Got a heap of sound/heat shield matt to put on floors and fire wall to try keep the heat down as in summer the zaust cooks the floor.
Not in any crazy rush as not very nice weather at the moment so just do it in bits and peices and it can sit on trickle charge hibernating

Anyone know how good the standard sound deadener is (not carpet underlay)? As trying to get temps down in car from zaust. Is aftermarket matting with alloy back better? Or could i stick aftermarket over the top of it? As i know removing is a prick as would need to use dry ice etc.
Pick of new black facia installed looks so much better, yes still have aftermarket dials as in the move lost the hsv original cluster faces haha. Understand momo wheel not to everyones taste but was the best looking wheel with crash pad that i could find. And yes handbrake cover been replaced, back in 2007 this was the best option i had as leather was peeling on standard one.

So i ended up going with a thermal acoustic insulation that is a aluminium backed butyl matt. I purchased it off ebay and was 1.8sqm for $115. Its about 4mm thick with all combined layers and 3.5kgs a square meter. Quite good to use, once you roll it on it sticks quite well quite hard to get it to come back up. I am sure once some heat gets into it will seal it even better.

I put it over the top of the standard stuck on deadener and will install an aluminium foil based underlay over the top before installing carpet.

Looking forward to hearing how much noise reduction from the road/exhaust it gives you.

My ute is nowhere near on the same level as yours but even with a stock ecotec and a Manta cat back i find the exhaust note in the cabin pretty unbearable at times.

Thanks mate its a work in progress. Will let you guys know as my whole left leg would cook before i did this as pipes and tranny would heat the floor up so much even the side of radio facia etc would get hot
