Hey guys, unfortunately I was in a crash on Friday ( I got hit at the back end by a truck and spun out into a concrete wall ) ouch


I am currently waiting for all the insurance to go though, but I want to know if you guys think it is a write off as I want to start looking into a new car ASAP because of work purposes. So have a look and share your opinions

OT: Wait for the insurance company. Every assessor is different. Plan for the worst and start looking at other cars. We might say yeah write but the assessor might not.

Depends if it's agreed or market value and how high their valuation figure is so its hard to say one way or the other.

Doubt it, but every guy is different.If you wanted it written off all you needed to do is crease the pillar lol.
Also depends on if they want to write things off or not. Remember in all the hail storms with all the damaged vehicles they were repairing everything they could, stuff that normally would have been written off.

as said about 50/50 dependent on what its insured for..what spec is the car?

Yes I'd say 50/50 , start by having a look around to see what you can get for the cover , it still is a bastard of a situation , I was in that position a couple of years ago , my car was fixed but I still had a look around at cars , just in case , hope for the best but expect the worst , if you catch my drift .

Is it going through the other parties insurance? Remember if it does you have no contract with them and their terms and conditions mean nothing. They have to cover the cost of the damage their client made so they need to pay to fix it even if it's more than the car is worth. If they write it off make sure they pay out what it is insured for or even try to ask them to cover the cost of replacement ie stamp duty etc.

It's going though the other party's insurance, I only have third party D:
If it is written off I'm gonna fight for what a paid for it , I only got the car 4 months ago. And we'll see.

The right hand back has also been smashed ( where the truck hit and the other side was a concrete wall )in and the exhaust has been spilt.
