is BAAM0265 a standard memcal for a VP? (i know it's a myth about cop car chips) it's outa a NZ cop car. although it looks like its been tampered with. the ecu had a steel cover riveted over the ecu in the car and the sticker has been removed from the eprom by the sounds of things. anything else worth recovering from a BT1, it was spun and hit on the front and rear. going to have a look tommorow, i'll get some pics. belonged to the father in law who drives like his age so i wonder how he did the damage. i'm trying to get the LSD diff hopefully
yeh get the diff, the dash cluster maybe the springs and stuff if your car isnt already lowered, the brakes and calipers cant think of what else
Yeah baam is a std issue vp chip. The cover that was over the computer is also standed fitting for a vp. Altho i dont really understand why you would say it is a myth about police chips as the do exist and they run a slightly different computer in the later models
the BT1 policecars must have been imported direct from aus cause as we all now know the standard commodores here were tuned on leaded fuel and the BAAM tune is for unleaded, so you could consider NZ cop cars to be "chipped" when compared to our normal ones etc. this car has always gone "hard" compared to normal cars and it's been in there family since been sold by the police etc so we know whats been done to it.
looks like it's going to get scrapped, he's in no hurry at the mo, hopefully i can get the LSD diff and maybe brakes and fe2 suspension and i think i'll try to get the ecu and dfi/coil packs as well
I guess this could be of intrest to you, as i did not know that the baam chip was a special import for nz http://cgi.ebay.com.au/VP-GTS-V6-GE...QQihZ020QQcategoryZ102357QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
