Are you guys leaving the bolt in crossmember/bracing plate off once you have an aftermarket exhaust fitted?
I see some cheap exhausts have crushed pipes to fit under the crossmember.
I saw an x force exhaust that came with a bent up plate to bolt in place of the flat factory one.
Cheers

Get some spacers, or use washers to move the brace down to give the exhaust clearance.

i probably would have posted the halo one, it appears to be the most common one among the chevy ss guys.
bmr also do one but its a bit bulkier.
obviously washers also work if you dont have to make too much clearance

i wouldnt leave it off, it is actually a structural brace in the car.

The halo one is a good looking bit of kit definitely looks a lot stronger than the factory one, does anyone on here have one fitted to their vf,just wondering if its a bolt up deal.
Thanks for the link and the replys.

I'm also interested in the Halo trans tunnel brace - I've emailed their sales department this morning asking for a postage quote to Victoria

Certainly looks a lot tidier than the factory unit, especially spaced out with a stack of washers

From the looks of the pictures on their website, it'll be a direct bolt up to the Australian Commodore chassis

Just an update for those that are interested

Enquired with Halo in respect of postage - Yes they do post to Australia

My quote (Victoria) was $64.85

Combine this with the purchase price ($89) along with conversion from USD to AUD makes for one VERY expensive piece of steel...

Total inc postage was just shy of $250 drachmas!

might look into getting some plate bent to suit would be much cheaper then can just have it custom bent to suit exhaust, or maby even bend it inward against the tunnel between exhaust and tail shaft for better ground clearance, then could even incorporate a tail shaft loop encase it brakes

I'll just stick with my custom made bushes.

For those that are interested - Ended up purchasing the Halo brace

As listed on the website, it's designed for a Camaro, but can confirm that it will indeed bolt straight up to the Aussie Commodore

Mark and the crew at Halo Supercars were very helpful indeed - When I placed my order, I had the brace in my hand a week later! Not bad considering it's coming from the other side of the globe!

Fitted to a 2012 VE Sportwagon with a full 2.5" Difilippo system
