It had to happen now because im selling it :bang: the other day my cruise control just stopped. one day it was working fine, next day nothing. it will turn on (green crs light) but wont activate (yellow light) i've checked the connections and all seem fine and cables dont seem to have come adrift or anything and the fuse is ok. i have done nothing to the car to affect it to the best of my knowledge. oh and my batt died this morning, so i was late for work. more money. if this keeps up im going to have to pay someone to take it! anyone had this drama?
Are you sure that the CC isn't actually working or just the yellow warning light not working. I've had to replace the Power, CC active and CC on/off globes a couple of times in the 10yrs I've had mine.
I've got the same problem. One day out of the blue it just stopped working. My cruise control turns on but when I try to set the speed nothing happens.
Have you checked the switch on the brake pedal. Also does the switch feel ok, not sticky or lost its spring ect. Also i have never actually played with the cruise, but you can normally heard a relay click in when its set. Try checking that relay, it may have a burt out coil or dicky contacts ect. Failing that maybe try a second hand control arm, can usually pick them up on ebay cheap.

I had a cruise through at previous posts and read up that it could either be the brake switch or a dodgy wire in the stick. My cruise control turns on but I can't get it to set the speed. I'm a total rookie when it comes to cars and greatly appreciate any of you guys going out of your way to any help out. cheers
i do get the activation click when i turn it on (green light) might check the brake switch, i was thinking the stalk might be knackered.
Agree with checking the brake micro-switch. I have experienced the same problem on a VS II manual that I had (son now drives). It was the micro-swich on the clutch pedal. It was not a switch failure, but a movement of the switch mounting such that the switch was dis-engaged even when the clutch pedal was released. The setup on the brake pedal is the same, so I would check that first, followed by checked the micro-switch itself.
If you are getting the activation click and green light, then i would assume the cruise is working as intended. I would be inclined to check where the cruise connects onto the throtle body as it sounds as if it has become un attached from it. Post us if you find the problem
I had this exact problem. Battery died hey. I would put money on the alternator regulator about $40 bucks to fix. Black thingy on the back. When this goes the battery surges causing the computer to glitch I'm pretty sure... When my cruise played up, one of the cruise lights went out then it was just free revving until red luckily I stopped it just in time from hurting the motor by turning the cruise off completely. I think I either tapped the brakes or switched it off on the stalk. Anyway I don't know if this is your problem but I can only state what happened to mine. Do you get a battery light up on the dash? It's either your Regulator or Battery. Could be the cruise module but I doubt it. Both can play silly buggers with your cruise and who knows what! Good Luck Mate.
Have a close look at your indicator switch towards the bottom and check for pinched or cut wires (They are the thin ones which go to their own connector) which is fairly common. I had that issue and replaced the indicator switch for a new one off eBay for around $60 and it now runs fine.
