Cruise control won’t activate

Hi guys new to commodores here
I’ve recently bought a ve SS Wagon, but the cruise control doesn’t work.
it will turn on, but it won’t activate. I’ve tried the brake pedal trick but no luck there.
the CEL is on, which I was told bythe previous owner that is on because the auto box has been tuned. And they’ve removed the sports shift mode so that’s whyit’s on. So my question is, would the CEL being on be the reason my cruise control won’t activate ?

Yes, your car is telling you it shouldn't be driving with the CEL on...

Yeah I figured as much. Car drives fine there’s nothing wrong with the car apparently the CEL is just cause they removed the sports shift mode or something like that...

just get another tuner or the original one to fix the mess left behind.
