I apolagise for all these questions, but you never learn if you dont ask right ? I want to know if it is possible to get the stock cruise control from an auto to work in a manual VP, I know the VP manual's dont come stock with it, but if i get all the bits what needs to be done to get it working properly ?
Yes, u will need the module, throttle cable, all wiring and switch block for dash + brake switch. Only thing u will be missing is a clutch switch, You should be able to use another brake switch in series or live without it, Just be careful not to engage clutch while cruise is active!!
the cruis control will not fit ith out lots of wiring or changing for a harness that came from a car with it. Vp's do not have the cruise control plug and wires fitted to the harness unless it was ordered. The plug would be located on the side of the rail under the air box. I had a vp with out and looked at fitting it and found it was to hard, just get a good aftermarket set and fit it it's easier.
Ok thanks, i was after keeping the factory look and the cost's down. Any recomendations for an After Market cruise ? Oh and prices please
Holden made a dealer fitted kit ...if you were lucky you might be able to find the harness on a vn/p wreck or strip the wiring off out of the harness from a wreck with it or you could win this auction Holden Commodore VN,VP, Cruise Control Kit - eBay, Other Car Parts, Accessories, Car Parts, Accessories, Cars, Bikes, Boats. (end time 10-Aug-08 19:50:44 AEST) and install it.......... or you could use a r/h vr/s stalk instead with some wiring mods and use a separate harness from one of those.
