I have a VR commodore ex "94 It has just started to do a clanking sound coming from a metal fan at the top front right of the engine. It is really loud and rough when left idling or under 2000 revs, does anyone know what this could be and how I'd correct it?

    Metal fan?

Wait, do you mean the alternator pulley?

Yes, the alternator pulley. it's making a crunking sound where it's catching. do you know how to fix it? or does it need replacing. Also is it something I could do myself or do i need to get it done professionally? :D

Probably the bearing has gone in it.
