nulon lifter quietner works for a while but a product called valvoline engine flush worked better for me
you warm up the engine, put it into engine oil and leave engine idling for 10 minutes then replace oil and filter

we found that using the valvoline engine flush removes the black paint from the inside of the oil sump and clogs up the oil pickup which results is low oil pressure and oil pump failure.

many engine manufacturers paint the inside of the oil sumps, take some off and you will see alot of them are painted black, now there are alot of alloy sumps on more modern cars that are not painted.

vl sumps are painted black on the inside
when i had mine of to replace it because of a big dent, the bottom area had all flaked off while the rest above oil level was still painted

i had tryed many bottle of lifter free before so its possible that was the cause, might not be though
