Category “Hard Charger”, Steve Cramp will be giving it all tomorrow during Qualifying and Race One at Wakefield Park. CVW Manta Racing completed both practice sessions of Round 2 successfully today and are looking forward to the challenge. The team will need to give it all they have and be particularly strategic in their approach to the two 24 lap heats this weekend. A very limited budget for this round means that they will not necessarily have the luxury of new tyres - add that to a track that favours the All Wheel Drives over the V8s and the test becomes a lot greater.

“We’re really happy with the way practice has gone,” enthused Steve Cramp. “The car is going very well and we are happily surprised with how quick we have been around this particular track today”. The team finished the session 4th fastest and the split between positions 2-4 were less than 100th of a second.

Team Manager Rod Duff explained, “We are definitely in this to win the series. It’s important that we get the best possible results at each and every round this year to enable us to win the big prize at the end.”

At the end of the first day, the HSV has proven faster than the majority of the field including many of the AWDs. Qualifying is tomorrow at 10.35am followed by Race 1 at 2.10 pm. Race 2 will be on Sunday at 1.25pm.

Television broadcast of Round One at Oran Park will be screening this Sunday on SBS Speedweek at 12pm for those of you that won’t be at the track for this one!

CVW Manta Racing proud to be supported by CVW Engineering, Toll Tasmania, TRG Transport Logistics, Parramatta Hot Water Services, DuPlessis, Motul, Bilstein, City Holden, DC Signs, Triple A Crash Repairs, IDW, ACL.
