possibly the dumbest argument i had was with a guy talking on his phone and driving a ute who cut me off while i was on my motorbike.

i pulled up next to him and told him what he'd done (he never noticed, too busy talking).

this genius went spacco at me, explaining how motorcyclists always break the rules. the dumb **** actually expected me to take the blame for behaviour of other bikers.

honestly they should have an IQ cutoff for driving/riding licences.

At least with cars/motorbikes/trucks 95% of the people on the road have passed a test to say they can be there. Not saying they are all good drivers, but at some stage they've all had to prove they have some level of competency. With a bicycle anybody can hop on, without anything to say they are competent and drive on the road, along with the motorists

Idiots. Its like that in Melbourne sometimes. I've almost taken cyclists out while i've had a green light because they come rushing through the red. Also nearly been cleaned up getting off of a tram, obviously the whole STOP thing doesnt apply to them. Also seen one leeching a ride off of an SS's spoiler up Lonsdale street

I actually agree with that comment.

YES I can ride a bike BUT I am not 100% sure of the road rules when riding a bike. I can drive a car and know the rules that apply when driving but are rules for bikes different?

You rekcon that's good, last time I was in Melbourne I was in a tram and looking down in amazment at a buisness suit guy writing in a book he had laying on the streering wheel of his Commodore while driving along, I don't know how long he was going to do this for but I watched him for the whole length of a major road :) in heavy stop start traffic

Yes i can ride a bike, and yes i would be fine if i had to hold a license to be able to ride a bike on the road.

    You have to hold a:

Car Licence to ride a car
Truck Licence to drive a truck (many different types but for my example will lump them in one)
Motorcycle Licence to drive a Motorbike
    Gun Licence for a Gun
    Boat Licence for a Boat
    Fishing Licence to Fish

So why different for a bicycle rider?

The SS can go 0-100 in under 6 seconds......... can the bike? :p

As far as leeching a ride off someone's car is concerned... that's just plain rude.

All in all i have no problems with cyclists. I think the ones with the grudges against drivers are just fedup with the abuse and general sh!t they cop on the roads.

If you have pulled in front of cars that have nudged then don't move in front of cars like the law states. If you are there already then they nudge you report them for hit and run. It's not all bike riders causing this issue, just a few, these idiots need to realise they should not get in the way of something that can kill them. In this and age do you really want to **** off some of the mental heads driving?

LMAO, of course cars take up car parks, it's what they are for, what's your point? As for being a moderator, we are entitled to opinions you know, we aren't mindless idiots who don't think for ourselves.

Were you one of those cyclists? God i hope so. As i said, Karma is a great thing. These riders had NO RIGHT to take up not just a bike lane but also a car lane. It is just another case of idiot thinking cyclists thinking they can take on the world.

Apart from being rude, it's outright illegal. If someone was doing that to my car I'd just see how well 343mm rotors pull up a car at 60 :D

really .. i alway thought most carparks were there for a reason specific to its location .. you know .. like shopping and stuff .. not just to sit there an look at each others cars and shoot the s**t .. people actually do use them for an intended purpose from time to time . do you think you can just go anywhere and park just because its public .. man even if you paid for tickets an congregated in one it wouldnt be long before you got kicked out

I worked for a fast food place and we didnt mind the cars taking up the car park (we actually get a few groups) why? coz once they have all been through and ordered mostly the dining room stays quiet for the rest of the night LMAO!
