My mum did that to the car I have now, and she got her friends panel beater husband to fix it for $200 inc. paint.

Off a gutter!!!

Nope. Pulled into a steep decending driveway and didn't see the 12 inch high brick wall on the left.

I'm not too fussed on the cost. Worst case scenario is I'll claim insurance. Excess is $400. but my premium will rise by 10%. As long as the job is done right the first time without screwing me around. I love the car to bits and want to keep it for a long time to come.

Have decided to go through the insurance company. My no claim bonus will drop from 60% to 50% but only for a year as long as I don't make any more claims and $400 excess.

Been to about 6 smash repairers and there was only 2 who's service I was happy with. Some of them just said to me "it's gonna be costly" and "we can't fix it 100%". One of them took me into the repair shop and showed me exactly what needs to be done. They had a stripped hatchback with the same thing. Will let you all know how it goes.

Put a SS kit, that'll cover it and it will improve the look of the car.

I have seen Calais with SS kits (Kit colour same as bottom tone) and I think they look great.
