hey guys well since i fixed the major problem with the wiring loom. i have been getting a sort of tune from my car. i have read the handbook and it says that it should play an "audible warning" when: *The Handbrake is on and the car is moving *You have exceeded your set speed *The engine is overheating. thats all i can remember. i know its not a loose wire because it still happens on the smoothest of roads well thanks for all your help guys.
Also should do it for low fuel - if you still have the original owners handbook there will be a list there - I've got a VS Exec which is different to the VR Berlina so can't help you there. The handbrake one is the major cause of chiming as the switch get misaligned easily and the brake handle sometimes fails to fully return. Good Luck.
If it is the same as my VR you will also have a low fuel warning chime. As Hako has already said check that your handbrake switch is properly aligned.
48 = crankshaft reference signal missing. the car shouldn't be able to run, so i'd say that's a dodgy code
That's strange - my Gregorys says 48 = no cam angle sensor signal....and this would make more sense as I think the engine will still run but the engine light will come on.
well the car rums perfectly does anyone know where the little speaker is so i can disconnect the bloody thing
I thought 48 for CAS was strange when I checked. my code reference sheet isn't from the manual, it's off this site, and there's 2 codes for a crank angle sensor, so one could be wrong
under the dash is about as specific as I can get. shouldn't be hard to find, it's a regular piezzo speaker like the horn but smaller. might be best to have it checked by holden just in case, as I'm sure the whole system utilizes the one speaker
Why dont you find out what is making it beep and fix that instead of just disconnecting it. Those beeping warnings can be extremely useful.
Gregorys just says remove and check with no test procedure. What I'd do is remove but do not disconnect - run engine - disconnect - run engine again and note any difference. If there is a difference then that means at least it is connected - if not then maybe it is not connected/wired so that its signal is getting to the ECU.
well the funny thing is. i don't have a cam angle sensor! dont know how that works but yeah. and its running perfectly now took the dash apart and checked all the wiring and no more beeps. so im happy thanks for the help guys
well problem is fixed and i found the speaker. its inside the instrument cluster (level 3) dead in the centre if anyone was interested.
mine does this every now and then if its ur handbrake i jusat usally rip the hand brake up obviously while cars turned off just rip it up so it makes the clicking sound without using the button seems 2 fix it til next time lol
