You can lever the button completly out, the mechanism still work's. Its spring loaded so have a hand infront of it to catch the button and spring.

Mine did the same thing and my button just flew out when i was playing with it. Im not sure if it can be road worthy'd but i dont see why not as it still works the way it was intended.

mine gets stuck in sometimesd, usually moving it around a bit works. either use your finger or get like a small screwdriver to try and move it around.

    just unbolt and replace.
take console out and undo cable underneath then the 2 bolts near passenger seat and the whole thing comes out.

mine got stuck a couple of times, but i think i was mucking around and probably deserved it, i gave it a sharp rap with a screwdriver handle and it popped back to where it should be

If you manage to free the button by levering it out try CRC and work it in and around
the button itself once you've freed it up use something similar to a spray grease to further and continue lubricating the button works in most cases see how you go otherwise u may need to replace the button assy

My button mushroomed at the end from use and that is what caused it to get stuck. The button just pulls off (you might have to use a screwdriver if it is really far in) and a replacement one from Holden is a few dollars. Just pushes back on.

this happened to me a while ago too!

It works awesome as a 'rally' style handbrake! .... then you get used to it, enter a corner on the handbrake and find that it gets stuck in the 'up' position because the button decides to work again :p
