reasonable ? Dont know, I found one for 90 bucks with 12month warranty ...so half that...so uber-reasonable then :)

I said reasonable for a supplied rack. The shop will put a markup on it no matter what, this will also cover shipping/delivery or time spent on getting staff to collect the part (which could be a decent drive depending on circumstance, and time is money), their price also could be inclusive of a wheel alignment too (which you will need regardless) but you'd have to ask them.

Everything you do outside of a shop will inevitably be cheaper given your options to shop around and perform some work yourself depending on your time frame and how long you can last without a car, the mechanic wants a quick turnaround to clear space for more work, so they will do and get whatever is quickest and easiest, particularly if they need to quote for and perform work on tens of cars per day.
