 I have a problem with my dash. No it's not the speedo this time.
My tacho works sporadically. I have had the dash out and cleaned all contacts but this did not fix it. Does anyone have any ideas?
    Thanks

    Could it be sticky?

When it doesn/t work, try bumping the top of the dash.

When gauges have been intermittent for me in the past, that has tended to fix the problem.

If it does, you could be happy bumping, or buy a replacement tacho being confident that this would fix it.

If you have a friend with a VN swap clsters for a day and see if the same problem occurs, if so its the wiring in the car, not the cluster itself.

Or like Fekason said, buy a replacement tacho for it, or get a replacement cluster

    Dash Trouble

Thanks guys. I have tried hitting it already to no effect other than make my fuel gauge work when it wants to sleep.
I will try another cluster and see what happens. I just have to find one.

Go to your local wreckers and see if they are nice enough to let you test the cluster before you buy a replacement one, this way you can kill 2 birds with 1 stone. grab a good condition cluster throw it in and see if everything works, if it does buy the bloody thing and throw away your old one (Or keep it, like me. i keep everything.)
