Hey, on my VX i can push the pedal down an inch or a bit less and it wont do anything, wondering this is normal and if not, can it be readjusted? also when i have to brake i cant just roll my heel i have to actually move my leg back and then put my foot on the brake because the brake pedal comes out more then the accelerator, can this also be fixed? Cheers
Ok thanks, i wouldnt have a clue how to do that and is this fix for the dead spot or does this bring the pedal back a bit for easier braking, and im guessing its not normal how it is at the moment? thanks
Hopefully both. If you look at the bracket where the throttle cable connects to the throttle body (in the engine bay not the accelerator end) you will see that it is threaded where the inner cable goes through. Undo the nuts and adjust to increase the tension, if you go to far you will increase the idle, so be careful
thanks for the help accent, also u were helping me a while back about how my windows fog up and said about the AC drain hose being blocked maybe, i would like to check this but dont really know what im looking for, do you get to it from the top of the car or the bottom? im not sure what im looking at/for, thanks again
You get at it from underneath the car, above the front of the transmission. You are looking for a short piece of hose coming out of the floor, a bit more towards the passenger's side if I recall correctly, it will be easier to see with a torch. When you find it, stick something like a long cable tie up that hose to clear any debris. If it was blocked water should run out. Avoid sticking any sharp objects up there.
ok im not exactly sure where the transmission is lol, im only new with cars and would a pen be long enough to stick in there?
The big thing bolted to the rear of the engine is the transmission. You are looking a the area just behind the cigarette lighter socket in the console but from underneath the car, sort of in line with the front of the front doors. You have the flat area of the floor, driver and passenger side and in between that you have the have a space where the transmission sits. Look in there.
