Hi guys, first off found this site very helpful with the knowledge you guys have and has helped me alot, but I've got an issue with my 5.0L VR Stato automatic, and after searching haven't found the info I need this time, the prob is my car died on me coming home, I pulled over turned the key and nothing at all, dash lights come on but that's it, it won't crank over, central locking won't work, power windows won't work, electric antenna won't retract, interior lights won't work, I do have radio, headlights, aircon, I've checked all fuses which were fine, swapped over relays but nothing changed, I've had the RACQ out they checked everything I had already done and he had no idea what it could b just said its electrical and needed a tow. I've read that it could be something to do with possibly the ignition module, coil, or sensor on dizzy, but if it was 1 of those things shouldn't the car still crank over? also if it is 1 of those things why would it affect my power windows and central locking? I've been thinking it might the key or could it b something to do with the stock alarm system they come out with? before the car died I didn't have any probs with the things that are failing now and the car has always ran great. I know the battery is fine and has charge, I tried turning the key leaving it for 45min to by pass/reset then start it but that done nothing either, I'm hoping u guys might b able to give me some info/tips on where to start, because for it to die like that and the other functions fail aswell all at the same time makes me think it's all related some how, any way thanks in advance for any help people can give me. Oh I was on LPG when all this happened if that's of any relevance:(

sounds like you could have a dead bcm for all the electrics to be failing like that. if you turn your hazzards on, do the lights flash?
have you tried manually bridging out the 2 terminals for the starter motor? if it turns over then its something to do with your ignition

Sounds like the BCM considering the power windows and central locking is controled by it.
I am sure the power windows would still work even if the keyhead was not working. You could try another (Your spare) or replace the battery within the keyhead to be sure....

Thx guys for the quick replys, the hazard lights flash, haven't had a chance to check any thing yet was just on dark when I got it home and can't get it up drive to carport (to steep to push it up and tow truck couldn't get it up) so its parked out front, thx for the links for error codes, will check that out in the morning and try bridging the starter, I've tried my spare key but no difference, if it's BCM how much $$$ would I b looking at? and is it just a matter of unplugging it and putting another one in?

You would need to find the same level BCM as the one you have and make sure the keyheads come with it.
Yes you can unplug it. The BCM is located on the right hand side under the dash you have to remove part of the vent that goes to the door to get to it...
