Is your exhaust valve still burnt?

If its a bearing on the way out you can put some additive in it and nurse it along until a rebuild can happen - else second hand motor. Or you can try thicker oil.

Also it can be the flex plate as was the case for the bloke across the road from me. I get this come have a listen to this. I say sounds very bad to me - new motor - he says nope scrap heap it the motor is gone. Anyway turns out to be the flex plate - he was very happy about that.

lol. so thats how you fix a death rattling engine. ive heard it fixes it quicker when you hold it on the rev limiter

Could be more of a timing issue, a burnt exhaust valve will do all sorts of things to the AF ratio, could be detonation you are hearing rather than a buggered bearing.
