Hope I'm wrong but looks to me like the clear coat is gone.

Odd it only happened on one of the S's.

Perhaps previous owner also removed them and did a poor job. Then covered it back up with the badge again?

use wax and grease remover first to get rid of any glue left over from the badges and use a soft buffing compound since the paint should be 2 pack , t cut is only for acrylics . if that does nothing then the panelbeater will have to blow in some clear to correct
problem , motorcity panelbeaters could help.

thanks
george

A badge would probably cover that blemish perfectly.

Well as it turns out, it seems that's my best option. I popped into a panel beaters today, they gave it a quick wet sand, got nowhere and said the clear coats so hacked up the only 100% fix is to respray the door. But for a blemish that small, a respray just ain't gonna happen. No siree

A second place I went to said the same thing. So the two SS badges will be going back on.

What a doofus eh?
