Hi,

After a wild goose chase and replacing all of the things I probably didn't need to replace, I have finally found the problem with my dedicated gas Commodore.

I removed the manifold today as I wanted to test all of the ignition coils. Once everything was apart, I could smell gas and also hear a leak coming from the injectors. I could not work out exactly which one was leaking though.

Does anybody know....
  1. How can I determine which of the injectors is leaking?
  2. Is replacing them a fairly easy process?
  3. Do I need to somehow turn the gas off to the injector rail before removing injectors?
  4. Are any "specialist" tools required?
Thanks for any help you can give me!

Unfortunately, most repairs to LPG systems can only be carried out by licensed gas mechanics. While the process of changing the injectors is straightforward, it would probably be difficult to get replacements if you're not a licensed LPG mechanic. Maybe different regulations in different states but, certainly in NSW & Vic, LPG vehicle installations are controlled by the state governments. To test for leaking injectors, spray some water detergent mix on them. The leaky ones will show bubbles.

Took it to a specialist in the end, yep two injectors pissing gas! Hopefully that'll be the end of it now!
