I wouldn't do it on a car that wasn't misbehaving, no. However I'd definitely do it on a new GenIV V8.

No mate dunno what that black thing is perhaps that's the Holden one you already have! Our box goes better and runs cooler (+/- 3º with coolant temp) without starvation using a wider pickup submerged 50mm deeper and about two litres more Dexron VI

I got it done in Sydney, have since flashed to later version of stock tune and swap over via OBD dongle.
