Hi there,

Does anything come to mind when you hear this sound?

It is a ticking and ‘whop whip’ sound.

Someone said it is an engine knock or bad lifters, not the harmonic balancer.

330xxx on the odometer.
Starts first shot EVERYTIME. Even if not started since a week

Apparently this car was used as a burnout car in the past (unbeknownst to me when purchasing it) as it has a thermo switch and other things).

Is it worth keeping the car?

Thanks for the help!

Take your belt off and see if the noise goes away. If it does its probably the balancer.

Appreciate the prompt response. Will check it out when I get the time.
Say it continued with the belt off, would do you think it could be? Anything major?
